Dr. Caro-lynne Ferris
Network Director

Caro-lynne has been director of CAAN since its establishment in 1999 and is responsible for the management of all activities at CAAN

Clare Wright
Strategic Access Manager

Clare has worked in CAAN for over four years. As well as leading CAAN's development and research team her role includes responsibility for strategic walking, off-road cycling, the Ulster Way and co-ordination of the Countryside and Access Officers forum.

Sylvia Watson
Office Manager

Sylvia's role within CAAN is general processing of finances for the company. Sylvia is also the office manager ensuring CAAN runs smoothly on a day to day basis.

Aideen Exley
Information, Marketing & Industry Communication Manager

Aideen's primary role is to manage CAAN's marketing team as well as raising awareness of countryside recreation in Northern Ireland and engaging with the activity tourism sector to promote Northern Ireland as a serious competitor. Within the marketing team Aideen is responsible for cycling and walking.

Kathryn Callaghan
Countryside Recreation and Water
Based Development Officer

Kathryn who previously worked at CAAN as a marketing officer on the Cycle NI project has recently been appointed to this role replacing Matt Peach. The role intially focuses on the development of a series of canoe trails throughout Northern Ireland but will also encompass other product development areas.

Beverley Pierson
Marketing Officer
& Leave No Trace Ireland Project Officer

Beverley's main role within CAAN is to assist the marketing team in the delivery of their marketing plan. Beverley also manages the Leave No Trace Programme which involves the co-ordination, management and promotion of Leave No Trace on a daily basis whilst still retaining responsibility for a significant section of CAAN’s marketing activities.

Chris Scott
Marketing Officer

Within CAAN Chris' role is to inform, promote and raise awareness of countryside recreation opportunities, specifically products developed by CAAN, to the Northern Ireland population and promote outdoor adventure to tourists. Within the marketing team Chris is responsible for adventure activities and canoeing as well as the Activity Tourism Forum.

Eszter Ballo
Research and Monitoring Officer

Eszter had recently joined CAAN under this role which was previously carried out by Ian McClelland. Eszter's responsibilities include all monitoring and research functions at CAAN including the collation of data for Waymarked Ways, cycling, canoeing, horse riding and ecotrails projects and initiating new quantitative research.

Ben Willis
Administrative Officer

Ben joined CAAN at the beginning of May as its Administrative Officer. His main responsibility is to provide reception, administrative and financial support to CAAN. Ben previously worked for the Orchardville Business Centre, a centre providing opportunities and training for people with learning disabilities. His main responsibilities were to manage the centre’s admin and accounts as well as to liaise with customers, organising mail shots and print jobs.
