Hannah Shields & Daryl Grimason to present at the Belfast Holiday World Show

CAAN will be exhibiting at the Belfast Holiday World Show at the King's Hall Belfast from Friday 15th to Sunday 17th January 2010.
Whether it is walking, canoeing, cycling or the extensive list of adventure activities CAAN (under OutdoorNI.com) will have a great selection of information available.
The stand will also have an exciting interactive element – in partnership with Ardclinis Outdoor Adventure we will have an 8 metre climbing wall so kids (and eager parents!) can experience the adventure straight away.
If that is not inspirational enough then our ‘Adventure Theatre’ will be showing videos of the activities available at a range of outdoor activity providers throughout Northern Ireland. We will also have some of Northern Ireland’s best known faces presenting on their recent experiences in the outdoors including:
Hannah Shields – 3pm to 4pm – Saturday 16th Jan
Hannah Shields is one of Northern Ireland’s best known adventurers. In 2004 Hannah became the first Irish woman to complete the grueling 350 mile race to the Magnetic North Pole, whilst hauling a 100lb pulk. She was awarded the Wedgewood Polar Endeavour trophy for her leadership, courage determination and selflessness on the race. Then in 2007, four years after her first attempt, Hannah returned to Mount Everest to realise her dream and became the first Northern Irish women to reach the summit of the World’s highest peak. A high-energy motivational speaker, her dynamic presentations will encourage and inspire listeners to reach for the top.
Darryl Grimason – 2:30pm to 3:30pm – Sunday 17th Jan
BBC Presenter Darryl Grimason, a native of County Armagh, is renowned for his work on the television series Coast to Coast, The Big Six and more recently Off The Beaten Track. Off The Beaten Track showcased the natural beauty of Northern Ireland’s walking landscape. From scaling Cuilcagh Mountain to rounding Fair Head Darryl gave viewers a unique insight into just how accessible Northern Ireland’s hills, forests, glens, mountains, meadows and coasts are for walkers to explore. Darryl will be talking about his experiences filming Off The Beaten Track and explaining just what walking in Northern Ireland’s picturesque surroundings exactly means to him.
