In June 2011 the new multi purpose trail system at Castle Ward was officially launched by Howard hastings, Chairman of the Northern Ireland Tourist Board and DARD Minister Michelle O'Neill.
The project was developed by CAAN in partnership with the National Trust and includes 35kms of off road multi-use trails for walking, cycling and horse riding within the Demesne. A new car park was also developed and a coin operated bike wash installed.
