This project involves the development of up to 40kms of off-road multi purpose trails for walking, cycling and horse riding. The project also includes the development of a new car parking area, refurbishment of the Strangford Lough Wildlife Centre building - to act as a Trail information point, installation of signage and a bike wash.
The trail system includes an all ability trail along the shore, and a series of short, medium and long distance trails taking in new areas of the property. The design of the trail system has now been completed with all the trails flagged/ marked on the ground - look out for these markers if you are on site - please do not move or remove any markers - these are critical for the trail development.
It is hoped that a contractor will start work on site by October 2010 and have all trails complete by mid March 2011.
