Narrow Water Castle - Site Assessment of recreation potential

CAAN is working in partnership with Narrow Water Castle and Newry & Mourne Council to complete a Site Assessment of the recreation potential for this extensive site on the shores of Carlingford Lough. The site is currently well used for recreation, with an equestrian centre on site and mountain bikers and walkers regularly using the woods on an informal basis. The landowners now wish to manage recreational use of the woodland in a more integrated, safe and sustainable way. With this in mind CAAN is coordinating a meeting with some of the local mountain bikers in February 2010. This will feed into the Site Assessment that will be developed throughout February and March 2010.
