Northern Ireland Adventureland Weekend 2012

Northern Ireland Adventureland Weekend 2012 will be held on 24th & 25th March 2012

It will build on the success of last year’s inaugural event which saw over 1400 people take part in outdoor activities throughout Northern Ireland.

As with last year, the Northern Ireland Tourist Board (NITB) will commit budget and resources to the event. The Countryside Access and Activities Network (CAAN) and NITB will combine their resources to promote the event but like last year it is reliant on support from private sector activity providers to ensure its success.

Aims:

To increase the awareness of the wide range of outdoor activities available in Northern Ireland to both the Northern Irish and Republic of Ireland population

To enhance activity tourism’s role as a key driver of spend within the tourism sector

Objectives:

• ‘Kick Start’ activity season
• Generate repeat bookings for activity providers
• Generate £500,000 PR value
• Increase targeted consumer data collection
• Increase digital footprint

CAAN and NITB will work together to promote the event via advertising, PR, e-marketing, and social networking.

All promotion will direct the consumer a mini-website and booking engine designed by CAAN
