Volunteer Ranger Programme

This programme involves volunteer rangers carrying out annual audits on CAAN's key products to ensure the products are fit for purpose. This includes eleven Way Marked Ways, audits of quality sections of the Ulster Way that are not currently part of a Way Marked Way, the short, medium and long distance Quality Walks as listed on WalkNI.com and the 4 family cycling trails. The Canoe Volunteer Ranger Programme was also launched in 2009, with all five inland canoe trails now being audited. The Mourne Rangers are a group of volunteers who carry out audits in the Mournes to highlight areas of erosion so this can be kept under control for the benefit of all those who walk in the Mournes. Finally, in 2010 the ecotrails will be audited for the first time. If you would like to volunteer or more information, please contact Diane Patterson - diane@countrysiderecreation.com or 028 90303935.
